Villainesque
Being evil is more than a job, it's a lifestyle.
            - Neil Zawacki

Villainy. A dream which so many secretly share. We've been exposed to these kinds of characters all of our lives and through every type of media. And many of us understand and sympathize with these archetypes so much more completely then we do the so called heroes. But is this the full extent of our connection? Is there no way to further immerse ourselves in this darkness which we so admire and enjoy? I believe that there is. A new, pro-villainy entertainment genre must be created to suit our needs, with separate and distinct values and ideals. This fringe genre will be classified as a new category of entertainment; which will be rooted in "evil" or villainous standards. And this work shall be called

Villainesque

.

This page is dedicated to the concept of villainesque, as outlined within my "Why Villainesque?" Rant. Although this page is technically apart of the Twisted Jenius site, it exists to pay homage to all of the other true villains out there. This will be our gift to the culture. It is here to serve those who practice the villainesque lifestyle as well as fans of the genre. If there is anything which you would like to see on this page (whether it's your own personal work, writing, art, website etc. or any other request), feel free to express this desire in our forum under the villainesque section and we'll see how we can accommodate you.
            - False Prophet

Sinister Creations: Dastardly works submitted by other elements and members of the villainesque culture.

Although, you can expect much more from this page in the future, for right now, we provide you with a swarm of villainous links to assist you along your sinister path (and to prove that we are not the only ones who are thinking this stuff). Here you will find the best of the worst; the most comprehensive list of villain links on the web, and it will only get better. In general, you will find the more relevant links toward the top of each section.

The casual observer could easily dismiss these sites as merely being jokes. And perhaps some of them are. However, many of them are also among the best examples of the villainesque mindset that we've seen. The true villains out there should realize that each one of these sites is a dark wish brought to life in a comic form. Enjoy, as you revel in this overabundance of evil.

So You've Decided to be Evil
I'd be a damn liar if I said that this site didn't have any influence on what we've created here at Twisted Jenius. I'd also like to point out that the two books based on this site (How to Be a Villain & The Villain's Guide to Better Living, also by Neil Zawacki), though intended as humor, are much more inspirational and encouraging to me then any real self-help books out there. Truly villainesque!
Evil Overlord, Inc.
This one's a classic, and has been on the web for some time now. On this site you'll find the now infamous Evil Overlord List. Although I can't say that I agree with many of the statements on the list (some of it can be a little too practical, and that can take away from the villainous fun), it is, without a doubt, something any good villain should read at least once.
VillainSource
Are you in the market for doomsday devices or superweapons? How about henchperson gear? VillainSource has it listed! As "Your Source For Everything Evil", this site is most definitely fun and is another excellent example of the Villainesque spirit in action!
evilHow
Do you desire further instruction on how to go about pursuing your dastardly career? Well, look no further than evilHow, the premier site of evildoer education and advice for many fiendish tricks of the trade. Now why couldn't they have sites like this when I got started in villainy?
Evil Genius Comics
Although I wasn't aware of this site when we created Twisted Jenius, some of the similarities are downright eerie. Could we have a kindred spirit on our hands, or merely some treacherous competition?
Evil on a Budget
This page gets so serious with its villain how-to; I almost hesitate to call it humor. Here you'll find some tips on decorating your lair as well as some dark fashion ideas. It's another excellent example of the villainesque attitude.
PPC Villain
Despite being in our humor section, this is another site which is dangerously close to being serious. This communication age in which we are currently living, has left plenty of room for diabolical marketing and media manipulation; for those of us who are into that sort of thing. And this site can provide some great tips for villains who wish to leverage the insidious power known as advertising.
The Return to Darkness
Here's another page which, though brief, is much attuned to the Villainesque mindset. Hmmm, Villainism; yeah, I think I like that!
How to Be an Evil Villain
Wow, ehow.com really does have instructions on how to do anything!
Evil Overlord's Guide
And we have even more evil antics and villainous advice. This evil overlord definitely loves his superweapons, but you'll also find some more serious villain insight here as well. I would say that some of these articles rival my own rants.
The Evil Henchman's Guide
Even expendable henchmen need some guidance now and then. We can't all be the genius/overlord in charge, but with this handy (and entertaining) guide, anyone can be a successful evil minion.
Wa Ha Ha's Evil Villain Emporium
A small, simple site; but one that's oozing with the villainesque spirit.
Rogue Cinema- Bond Villain Stereotypes
This article provides some insights into the sort of thinking which tends to lead one towards villainy. I can definitely sympathize with this guy. Go towards the darkness, my friends.
EvilPeople, Inc.
We'd also like to give proper recognition to EvilPeople, Inc. (Formerly at gaijin.com/EvilPeople). Although this site has been down for a while, it was another major influence in the first stages of conceiving Twisted Jenius; EvilPeople, Inc, we miss you!
There is a serious side to the ideas which we express here at Twisted Jenius. Although many of the sites in this category, as well as the practitioners of the thinking which they represent, would not consider themselves "evil" (and I certainly don't want to imply that they are); these ideas are a fundamental part of this site and any real world application of villainesque ideals. We must give credit where credit is due.

Church of Satan
The ideas expressed by Anton LaVey and his organization, have had a profound impact on my own views, and, by extension, what I present on this site. As far as I'm concerned, The Church of Satan is the first and last word on serious, dark philosophy. I recommend taking a look at their theory and practice section, to get a better idea of what they're about.
Nicolo Machiavelli Archive
Though there has been some debate among historians about just how ruthless or immoral he actually was; there is, however, no doubt about Machiavelli's reputation. His name has become a byword for certain types of negative attitudes and behavior among the powerful. And yet, so much of what he wrote makes perfect sense from a leadership standpoint. I believe that The Prince (arguably the most famous political work of all time) should be essential reading for anyone in any position of power or management. This site provides the complete text for The Prince as well as a few of his other works and a biography of Machiavelli himself.
Herbert Spencer
This is the man who actually coined the phrase "survival of the fittest" and (despite being one of Darwin's rivals), is the man considered most responsible for introducing the concept of social Darwinism. On this site you will find information about Herbert Spencer and his philosophy and social impact.
Social Darwinism
Here is very simple overview on the basic principles of social Darwinism. And you know how passionate we are about this topic.
Objectivism 101
A good, basic primer on the philosophy of Objectivism. This site is designed to help you to better understand this concept as well as its practicality and implications.
The Ayn Rand Institute
This is the person who is responsible for creating the philosophy of Objectivism, or as she liked to call it, "a philosophy for living on earth". There's a good chance that you may already be practicing many of the elements of Ayn Rand's philosophy, and not even know it.
The Center for the Advancement of Capitalism
Here we have another philosophy which is guilty of making too much sense. This seems to be an increasingly inexcusable offense in a world so full of stupidity. I was really glad to learn that there are groups of people willing to stick up for these ideals. This site will give you loads of information on the topic of capitalism, and will illustrate why, despite not being "perfect" (there's no such thing), capitalism is still, by far, the best option for an economic system that we have.
Capitalism
This page examines some of the historic meanings and origins of the word capitalism.
TalkOrigins Archive
Here is a site about evolution and the controversy surrounding it (you know which side we're on). It has all kinds of good material, articles and links about this subject. A very extensive and thorough resource.
Darwin Awards
I know, it's technically a humor site; but I had to put it here because it's so damned true. The Darwin Awards, as well as the philosophical implication which is behind them, is extremely congruent with the attitude which we exhibit here at Twisted Jenius. And, as this site so eloquently points out, "Comedy is simply a funny way of being serious." -Peter Ustinov
Evil Bible
This site stresses all of the horrors within the contents of the Bible and is passionately atheistic. Though technically an anti evil site, its views on religion seem to reflect ours a great deal. Man, don't you just hate it when mainstream religion makes us look like the "good guys" by comparison.
Here are some other sites which are dedicated to villainy and/or evil. (If any one would like to recommend or summit any other villain sites, please leave us a link in the forum to that site; under the villainesque section.)

Home For Cartoon Villains
We love cartoons and we love villains. What could be better? This is another site which rates high in the villainesque attitude department.
Hot Bad Guys
I've noticed a pleasantly surprising phenomenon on the Internet lately: the ladies seem to be going completely mad about villains (can you blame them?). And if our evil isn't enough to satisfy you fems out there, you should check out this site dedicated to those guys who make bad look oh so good.
The H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society
This site is dedicated to everyone's favorite unimaginable terror from beyond and the man who introduced us to the genre of cosmetic horror. And what villain wouldn't find some aspect of Mr. Lovecraft and his work inspirational?
Voltaire's MySpace Page
I normally don't consider myself a "music lover", but this is one musician whose work I truly enjoy. Voltaire's Music is fun and upbeat, while his lyrics are dark, cynical and often riddled with parody. This is an artist who is definitely exhibiting some Villainesque tendencies.
If I Ever Become an Anime Villain...
As we've said before, we're fans of anime at Twisted Jenius, which is why I felt compelled to include this list.
The Gallery of Antiheroes and Villans
Anime villains are the best, aren't they? Here's another gallery of illustrated evil doers.
Bond Villains
What would super villainy be without the influence of the classic bond-villains? Here is a very thorough resource containing more information than you ever wanted to know about all of the enemies of 007.
Villains Wiki
This is a Wiki dedicated to the subject of villainy. It's also an opportunity for you to write your own article about your favorite villain or villain related subject. What insidious piece of information do you have to add to the pool of online evil?
TV Tropes- Villains
Here's a mega list of villain types. The more, the better.
The Sixteen Villain Archetypes
A good list of classic villain archetypes and some brief, but insightful descriptions about each. From the evil genius, to the outcast, to the devil; all of the essential villain types are here. I'd say that any true villain should be able to see some of themselves in at least one of these basic characters.
There are a few villainous friends and associates of Twisted Jenius that I would like to provide links to. Many of these links are here for personal reasons and some are just plain selling out. Either way, we'd like to show them our support.

Gyps Fulvus: "Nocturnes For Nightmares"
"Nocturnes For Nightmares" is a delightfully creepy music project featuring a dark, ambient, 80s horror movie style.
Napalm Nick's Nutty Blog of Nastiness
Official description: "Nasty, Nutty, Napalm-buttery! Naughty essays, negative articles, and nauseating reviews. The first blog by Napalm Nick, a slightly disgruntled and yet strangely compelling individual." I couldn't have said it better myself.
The Manchild Monologues
Here you will find a series of articles about video games and other various elements of geek culture, written by an avid gamer.
Black Transmissions
M.D. Roche is granting you access to his depraved mind. His primary focus is on music and his various musical recommendations, but you will also get to read about his extremely non-politically correct ideas and nefarious observations about the world.
Garage Games
A site for video game development tools and software, including the line of various Torque game engines. Though perhaps not inherently evil, one of our products is sold on this site. And because that product is Artificial Intelligence that's designed to recreate life and kill virtual people, we're going to call that evil enough.
Embrace the Malignance
The emerging Metavillain Lord Malignance has his iron grip around the pulse of Internet villainy. If you want to know the latest about what's happening with evil doers on the web, this is definitely a blog that you should follow. Lots of great Villainesque info and links!
Materies Morbi
A neat blog, created by an even neater individual. Materies Morbi is a collection of unique and intelligent curiosities with an appreciation for the beauty of the morbid, the medical and the strange.
