It's a little known fact that Episode 28 was, in scripting, to have been the longest Snail Factory episode. Weighing in at 7 pages, the original story called for a much more in depth analysis of Jeremiah's character. Tackling such subjects as tadpole abuse and catesbeianan psychology, the story had to be parred down to a mere single page when the artist balked at having to draw and shade in 6 more pages of frog warts.
Jeremiah's suicide was also to have covered two panels depicting his splatter, with a Cafeteria sign for frog legs in the following episode. The need for his heavy croaking accent to be dubbed also suggested a one time appearance. This all changed when the actor shared some of his wine with the cast and crew and won over the producers as good friends, thus ensuring his appearances in further episodes.
